In the summer of 2020, I found myself feeling tired and burnt out at my day job. Every day, the demands of my workday left me drained, and though I had dreams of bringing my own projects to life—like place4pals, a non-profit social media platform—finding the time and motivation seemed impossible.
As a full-stack developer, I had the skills to create entire applications from scratch, but I was missing a crucial piece: a framework for managing my own time efficiently. That was the seed that planted the idea for Knife, a project management tool designed specifically for solopreneurs and small teams.
Knife was different from anything else out there. It brought together the best aspects of modern technology in a super simple package. This wasn't just a project management tool—it was a solution tailor-made for those like me, who needed a straightforward yet powerful way to manage their time and tasks.
I envisioned Knife as a beacon for people needing to hold themselves accountable, a refuge from the chaos of disorganized Google Docs and sluggish, block-based Notion notes. Today, Knife stands as a testament to simplicity and efficiency—a minimalist office suite with essential team collaboration tools and some intriguing AI integrations.
Through Knife, I hope to empower others to reclaim their time, focus their efforts, and actualize their visions, just as it has helped me do with mine.
